Summary

Nanofluids based on anatase titania as advanced heat transfer with concerning thermophysical properties of colloidal suspension have been investigated experimentally. Thermophysical properties of colloid suspension caused by nanoparticles existence have a significant effect on the ratio of pressure drop and heat transfer characteristic. At equal Reynolds number (Re) of the performance evaluation criterion (PEC) values, nanofluids flowing through in a conduit with twisted tape insert are lower than those of in a plain conduit. It implies that the energy cost is unfavorable for a conduit with twisted tape insert.
