Enhancement of amenity by chaotic fluctuation of air flow.
Author(s) : HARA T., IGUCHI K., ODAGIRI G., MORIMOTO M.
Summary
Most of us feel comfortable for fluctuated natural wind. Furthermore, it is thought we feel better when we have a gentle breeze with unexpected fluctuation. However, we do not feel comfortable when we can predict how the wind changes. Chaotic theory can produce fluctuation which never generates same pattern as before. In the study, fluctuation of air flow was generated according to the chaotic theory and the influence on thermal amenity was investigated by sensual method. After the experiments, it was found that enhancement of thermal amenity could be made using chaotic fluctuation of air flow for room- air conditioners.
