Summary

THE AUTHORS REPORT ON THE RESULTS OF A STUDY ON THE HYDRODYNAMICS AND HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGE ON THE EVAPORATIVE COOLING OF LIQUIDS AND GASES IN TRANSVERSE POINT CONTACT UNITS THE FLOW CONDITIONS OF THE LIQUID FILM, CRITICAL VALUES, AVERAGE VALUES OF FILM THICKNESS AND THE RATIO OF HEAT AND MASS SURFACE AREAS ARE SHOWN. THE GEOMETRICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HORIZONTAL CONNECTIONS AND THE PARAMETERS OF REGULAR ROUGHNESS MARKEDLY ENHANCING TRANSFER PROCESSES WERE DETERMINED. EXAMPLES ARE GIVEN FOR THE PRACTICAL REALIZATION OF MANUFACTURING STUDIES DURING THE CREATION OF VARIOUS HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGE UNITS FOR REFRIGERATION PLANT.
