Entropy generation in a heat pipe system.

Summary

Entropy generation in a heat pipe is caused by the temperature difference between the hot and cold reservoirs, the frictional losses in the working fluid flows, and the vapor temperature/pressure drop along the heat pipe. The ambient temperature in the condenser section and the convection heat transfer coefficient in the transport section can be adjusted to minimize entropy generation in the heat pipe system.
