Summary
Computer programs are available for estimating quantities of ammonia escaping from various leakage situations. Considerable input data is required which may not be available. Simple formulae are given for approximate calculations for vapour and liquid escapes through piping or irregular apertures. Methods are included for estimating leakages from relief valves and for quantities released in unventilated spaces. D.W.H.
