Type of article: Article
Summary
TWO ALTERNATIVE SCHEMES ARE EXAMINED, BOTH OF WHICH ARE ENERGY SUFFICIENT WITHIN THE PLANT BOUNDARIES. BOTH SCHEMES MAKE USE OF A GAS TURBINE AND THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM IS THE WAY IN WHICH THE TURBINE EXHAUST IS USED. OPTIMUM DESIGN IS STUDIED ON THE BASIS OF PROVEN TECHNIQUES. THE CRITICAL CONSIDERATIONS ARE DISCUSSED AND THE RESULTS OF THE TWO ALTERNATIVES ARE TABULATED. D.W.H.
