Evaluation of an air conditioner based on indirect evaporative cooling.

Summary

The paper describes the design and test procedure of a prototype air conditioner for closed greenhouses. Its performance under dutch design conditions is evaluated and compared with predictions of a mathematical model. The principle of the air conditioner is indirect evaporative cooling. The tests show that this principle is suitable for the conditioning of greenhouses since large amounts of sensible and latent heat were transferred from the greenhouse air by the air conditioner.
