THE DRY-SURFACE INDIRECT EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEM: A PERFORMANCE STUDY.

Summary

THE AUTHORS DESIGNED AND BUILT AN INDIRECT EVAPORATIVE COOLER. THIS COOLER WAS TESTED FOR ITS PERFORMANCE UNDER DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS, WITH DIFFERENT WATER AND AIR FLOW RATES. THE TEST DATA ARE GIVEN AND THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS COOLER IS COMPARED TO THAT OF THE REFRIGERATED AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND OF OTHER DIRECT EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEMS. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THIS SYSTEM CAN BE USED ECONOMICALLY IN HOT DRY REGIONS.
