Summary

It is necessary to introduce energy cascade systems into the industrial sector in Japan to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The aim of this study is to evaluate refrigerating and air conditioning devices where both energy cascade systems and thermal recycling systems are used in industries located around urban areas. Starting from carbon or fuel combustion, electricity is produced, with waste heat at 500 °C, which produces high pressure steam, then low pressure steam, then very hot water, then hot water. Each stage has its proper use. Waste heat can produce cold through absorption machines.
