Summary

THE PAPER DESCRIBES AND COMPARES THE EXISTING TECHNIQUES CURRENTLY USED FOR SIZING CONDENSATE RETURN LINES. SOME OF THE MOST COMMONLY USED TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN COMPARED TO INDICATE WHAT PIPE SIZE IS REQUIRED FOR VARIOUS CONDENSATE RETURN SYSTEMS. THE DIFFERENCES IN THE RESULTS FROM THE VARIOUS TECHNIQUES FOR A VARIETY OF SITUATIONS ARE NOTED AND RELATED TO ACTUAL HVAC SYSTEMS. A SET OF SIMPLE PROCEDURES FOR SIZING VARIOUS TYPES OF STEAM CONDENSATE LINES IS PRESENTED.
