Summary

AN EULERIAN ONE-DIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF TWO-PHASE TWO-COMPONENT FLOW IN THE AIR WASHER OF ANAIR CONDITIONING UNIT IS PRESENTED. THE GOVERNING EQUATIONS ARE SOLVED NUMERICALLY FOR THE CASE OF UNIDIRECTIONAL, COUNTER-AND MIXED FLOW IN THE AIR WASHER. RESULTS OF COMPUTATIONS ARE COMPARED WITH AVAILABLE EXPERIMENTAL DATA. IT IS ALSO DEMONSTRATED THAT THE METHOD CAN BE USED FOR DESIGN PURPOSES.
