Italian translation of an article presented at the IIR Aarhus Meeting, Denmark, in 1996 (see also IIR Bulletin, ref. 1997-2990). Evaporative air conditioning is an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient cooling method that uses water alone as the working fluid. Evaporative air conditioning provides superior indoor air quality over vapour-compression systems since 100% outdoor air is used. The use of evaporative air conditioning instead of vapour-compression systems also helps reduce global CFC and other greenhouse gas emissions.
