IT IS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT TESTS ON ACTUALLY OPERATING PLANT. AT PRESENT, THE TESTS ARE CARRIED OUT UNDER STEADY CONDITIONS. THEN, THERE ARE LARGE DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE RESULTS OF LABORATORY TESTS AND THOSE OF MEASUREMENTS IN SITU. IN ORDER TO KNOW THE ACCURATE PERFORMANCE OF HEAT PUMPS THE AUTHORS MADE MEASUREMENTS ON SOME PLANT WITH DIFFERENT HEAT SOURCES. THE VALUES MEASURED ARE THOSE OF DOMESTIC HOT WATER, HEATING WATER, THE HEAT SOURCE, AUXILIARY ENERGY CONSUMPTION, OPERATING TIMES, ETC.
