Summary

Shinshiji, a promising guava cultivar, has a large fruit size with a pleasant, aromatic flavour, and is popular with consumers; however, it has a very short storage life. Experiments showed that soaking fruits in a disinfectant for 1 minute and then wrapping them in a plastic foam net bag and applying cold storage, could prolong their storage life for 15 days without loss of eating quality. The most suitable cold storage conditions were a temperature of 8-10 °C and a RH of 85-90%.
