Experimental studies of grinding scrap tire peels in cryogenic state.

Summary

By using a thermal separator and a vortex mill, a novel cryogenic grinding system was established in the laboratory. Some experiments were performed to grind scrap tire peels into fine powders in the cryogenic grinding process. Optimal feed rate and feed size of scrap tire peels during the cryogenic grinding are given. Characteristics of final rubber products and energy consumption are indicated. The exergy efficiency of the cryogenic grinding system is 10.9%.
