Summary

This engineering doctoral thesis presented at Essen University, Germany, investigates the operating parameters of a plant using more or less moist air and a more or less concentrated aqueous solution as fluids. During the absorption phase, the solution becomes water-enriched; the air is dried and its temperature increases. An exhaust air/fresh air exchanger enables adjustment of the temperature to that required in order to supply premises. Exhaust air is also used following treatment in a regenerator supplied by the concentrated solution heated using solar energy (during which this air retains water and is released into the outside atmosphere). The experimental results obtained (air temperature, air humidity, solution temperature and concentration) for the absorber and regenerator are described and demonstrate that this type of plant can be used for air conditioning in the Conakry area in particular and in hot, humid countries in general.
