EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT FOR CONDENSATION ON RECTANGULAR VERTICAL FLUTED TUBE.

Author(s) : YUAN X., et al.

Summary

AN ANALYTICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER IN INDUSTRIAL ALCOHOL ON RECTANGULAR VERTICAL FLUTED TUBE SURFACE, UNDER ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE, IS REPORTED. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ILLUSTRATE THAT THE CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF A RECTANGULAR VERTICAL FLUTED TUBE WERE BEST AT A FLUTING NUMBER OF 60. HEAT FLUX BEING EQUAL, THE COEFFICIENT OF CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER OF A RECTANGULAR VERTICAL FLUTED TUBE IS ABOUT 7 TO 8.5 TIMES LARGER THAN THAT OF A SMOOTH SURFACE TUBE. A PHYSICAL AND MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER ON SUCH TUBES WAS ESTABLISHED.
