Summary

The radiation cooling is experimentally studied wi th air as the cooling medium. polyester (PET) as radiative material and low-density polyethylEne (LDPE) film as transparent cover. The experimental results with horizontal device indicate that the maximum temperature difference between PET and the environment is 9.9°C, and that between internal air and the environment is 7.2°C. In the same climatic condition for the device tilted, the results for 45° tilt angle are the best, the maximum temperature difference between internal air and the environment is 7.6°C. In the air flow experiment, the maximum temperature difference is obta ined at wind speed of 0.6m/s~0.8m/s, the temperature difference between the outlet and environment is 5.2°C, and the stable temperature difference is obtained throughout the night. By calculation, the effective cooling power of the device is 73.6 W/m2.
