Summary

The advantages and drawbacks of magnetocalorific and electrocalorific cooling are briefly reviewed. The results of tests, carried out with the view to developing a material with a relatively high electrocalorific effect and able to be used in the temperature range of 250-310 K are presented, as well as results of tests on the material obtained and of the model of the electrocalorific refrigerating unit. The operating principle of the unit is described, together with the design diagram of the model, the predicted output values and the operating components. C.C.
