Experimental study on a quasi two-stage compression heat-pump system coupled with an ejector.

Author(s) : PANG Z., MA G., YU L.

Summary

To test and study the performance of a quasi two-stage compression heat-pump system coupled with ejectors, three kinds of ejectors have been designed, and heat pump prototypes have been set up with different ejectors. When condensation temperature keeps at 45°C and evaporation temperature varies from -8 to -25°C, the performance of each heat pump prototype has been comprehensively tested. The experimental results demonstrate that the heat-pump system coupled with ejector has better performance than the quasi two-stage heat pump system under the design conditions, but its performance will decrease under the off-design conditions. The heat-pump system coupled with an optimized ejector can obtain an excellent performance in a wide range of operation conditions, and its heating COP can be about 10% higher than that of the heat-pump system without an ejector.
