Experimental study on a thermoacoustic prime mover.

Author(s) : BAI X., JIN T., CHEN G. B.

Summary

The thermoacoustic prime mover is a new type of pressure wave generator based on thermoacoustic effect. With no moving parts, it is a simple, reliable, and long-term nonmaintenance machine. In the paper, an experimental thermoacoustic prime mover is introduced. The experimental results are presented. The effect of the working fluid, resonator length, charging pressure and heating temperature on the performance of the thermoacoustic prime mover is discussed.
