Summary

The paper addresses refrigerant migration of a constant-speed room air-conditioner on starting and stopping. By installing pressure transducers, temperature sensors and sight glass on the suction tube, discharge tube, outlet of the condenser and inlet of the evaporator and setting 8 temperature sensors along the tubes of condenser and evaporator, all the parameters and fluid states of refrigerant in the system are clearly measured. By analysing the refrigerant migration during starting and stopping, the characteristics of refrigerant migration and the performance of the air conditioner were demonstrated. Decreasing the times of starting/stopping and preventing refrigerant migration during stopping are basic ways to improve the dynamic performance and enhance the seasonal energy efficient ratio.
