Summary

In this study, a steam generation heat pump system was developed, and the effect of using an internal heat exchanger to increase the performance of the system is shown. Steam is a widely used heat source form in industrial processes, and is usually employed using a boiler. Recently, the high-temperature heat pump has attracted substantial attention due to not only its generation of steam but also its recovery of waste heat. Many research groups have used numerical simulation to study high-temperature heat pump systems, but experimental research has rarely been performed. The bypass line was placed before and after the internal heat exchanger, and the COP increased with the mass flow to the internal heat exchanger. It shows the same effect as opening the expansion valve. In addition, COP increased with decreasing steam temperature, and the increase in the mass flow rates of water and refrigerant in the evaporator increased COP.
