SOAP BUBBLES IN MANY FORMS HAVE BEEN POPULAR LEAK DETECTORS. THEY HAVE THE VALUE OF OBVIOUS DETECTION,LOW COST AND SIMPLICITY, BUT ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO LOCAL ENVIRONMENT AND INSENSITIVE TO SMALL LEAKS. THE AUTHOR REPORTS RESEARCH INTO ALTERNATIVE BUBBLE MATERIALS THAT HAVE NO DRAWBACKS AND WHICH WILL DETECT LEAKS OVER A PERIOD OF TIME WHICH ARE BELOW RELIABLE DETECTION ABILITIES OF ELECTRONIC DETECTORS.
