Summary
Based on an analysis of the pressure independent terminals, it is found that the set air flow rate is a suitable control parameter, and puts forward a total volume method for control of the VAV systems. Simulation of this and constant pressure and pressure reset control methods with the HVACSIM software shows that the former is of higher reliability and the operation in a project proves its satisfying performance.
