Summary
The article presents ergonomic and safety considerations for personal wearable air-conditioning systems based on cooling assisted by phase change materials. PCM materials as well as eutectic mixtures used in conditioned vests are described. Personal air-conditioning systems are evaluated based on the analysis of experimental data in order to improve human working conditions in harsh environments.
