Summary

The small island territory because of their size and insulation are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Therefore, the challenge of independence and energy security ore of key issues on these territories, which are not connected to a continental network of energy production. Thus, in order to limit the use of fossil fuels, the use of renewable resources is an undeniable perspective for the islands. This article presents the feedback on the use of solar energy for on absorption cooling system. The performance of the pilot plant located at the University of the Reunion Island will be presented. And then we'll discuss the detailed modelling of the installation as well as a perspective of using biomass backup heater.
