FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY IN REFRIGERATED WAREHOUSES.

Author(s) : TOOLE C. W.

Summary

BECAUSE OF THE SPECIFIC STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A COLD STORE, IT IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND LIMIT A FIRE THAN IN A DRY STORE. THE MOST COMMON CAUSES OF FIRE ARE WORK IN THE MAIN BUILDING OR ELECTRICAL DEFECTS GENERALLY AT THE LEVEL OF DOOR FRAMES OR CABLE PATHS. FIRE PREVENTION, THE RESPONSIBILITY OF WHICH RESTS WITH THE DESIGNER AND ANY PERSON WORKING IN THE COLD STORE AND SURROUNDING AREAS, SHOULD MEAN MINIMISED HAZARDS AND CONSTANT VIGILANCE.
