Summary

DISCUSSES THE KNOWN FIRE OUTBREAKS IN DUTCH COLD STORES OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS. THE DAMAGES WERE NOT VERY SIGNIFICANT, BUT THE SITUATION HAS BECOME WORSE DUE TO THE LARGER SIZE OF COLD STORES. IT IS OBVIOUS, TOO, THAT FIRES ARE OFTEN DUE TO HUMAN FAILURES. AFTER A DISCUSSION OF WEAK POINTS, A POLICY IS ELABORATED FOR THE FUTURE, IN ORDER TO REDUCE SUCH FIRE HAZARDS.
