THE CODES REFERRED TO ARE AUSTRALIAN BUILDING CODES AND BOTH CURRENT AND FUTURE AMENDMENTS TO AS 1668. THESE COVER FIRE CONTROL PRACTICES IN MULTI-STOREY AIR-CONDITIONED BULDINGS. THE FOCUS IS ON PREVENTING SMOKE SPREADING FROM A COMPART-MENT OR COMPARTMENTS GENERALLY TAKEN TO BE A FLOOR OR INDIVIDUALLY CONDITIONED PART OF A FLOOR. THE PROPOSALS COVER CENTRAL AND FLOOR BY FLOOR SYSTEMS. GENERALLY THE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE SMOKE FANS OR DAMPERS WHICH, TAKEN WITH FRESH AIR SUPPLY TO NON-AFFECTED AREAS, WILL MAINTAIN A POSITIVE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE OF 20 PASCALS FOR THOSE AREAS OVER A FIEAA PKL PERIPHERAL POINTS SUCH AS THE INCLUSION OR NOT OF ANCILLARY SYSTEMS AND TEMPERATURE/TIME SPECIFICATIONS FOR SMOKE FANS ARE INCLUDED.
