FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN THE VICINITY OF AIR SUPPLY DEVICES FOR DISPLACEMENT VENTILATION.

Author(s) : MATHISEN H. M.

Summary

IN THE PAPER THE AIR FLOW CLOSE TO THE FLOOR AND AIR SUPPLY TERMINAL DEVICE IS CONSIDERED. THE VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES HAVE BEEN MEASURED IN A TEST CHAMBER. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT FLOWS FROM AIR TERMINAL DEVICES USED FOR DISPLACEMENT VENTILATION COULD BE DESCRIBED WITH RESPECT TO WIDTH AND FORM OF THE PROFILES FOR TEMPERATURE AND VELOCITY. THE FLOW DOES NOT BEHAVE LIKE A TURBULENT JET. IF OTHER WORK BY THE AUTHOR IS USED A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF THE FLOW CAN BE GIVEN. ADDITIONALLY DATA FOR TURBULENCE INTENSITY AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES ARE NECESSARY TO EVALUATE THE THERMAL COMFORT.
