Summary

AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE EXISTENCE CONDITIONS OF A NORMAL ZONE IN A SUPERCONDUCTOR, CONTAINING HIGH THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL CONTACT RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE SUPERCONDUCTOR AND THE STABILIZING NORMAL METAL, WAS CARRIED OUT. THE MEASUREMENTS CONDUCTED WITH A MODEL SHORT SAMPLE YIELDED THE DEPENDENCE OF THE LENGTH OF A FINITE-SIZED NORMAL REGION (RESISTIVE DOMAIN) ON CURRENT AND THE CURRENT-VOLTAGE CHARACTERISTIC OF SUCH A SAMPLE. THE ELECTRIC FIELD DISTRIBUTION IN THE RESULTING RESISTIVE STRUCTURES WAS OBTAINED.
