Summary

In order to calculate the energy performance of buildings, the most reliable models are based on time-dependent solution of equation systems describing the energy balance of building elements. Designing solar systems for building air conditioning requires the accurate selection of a proper simulation method among those available, in order to use a suitable and validated model. Solar systems require higher calculation accuracy than traditional systems because sizing errors can be much more relevant. This paper shows two calculation methods giving time-dependent solutions for two different passive solar systems.
