THE METHOD PRESENTED TAKES AS ITS BASIS THE CONCEPT OF A NEGATIVE RADIATION GAIN FROM SOLAR HEAT THROUGH A WINDOW WHICH IS IN SHADE. CALCULATION OF SOLARGAIN THROUGH WINDOWS BECOMES THE SUM OF A POSITIVE GAIN WHICH WOULD OCCUR ASSUMING NO SHADING AND A NEGATIVE GAIN WHICH OCCURS WHEN ANY PART OF THE GLASS IS IN SHADE.
