THE PAPER REPORTS THE RESULTS OBTAINED IN THE OPERATION OF THREE SWIMMING POOLS, OF THE SAME ORIGINAL DESIGN, LOCATED IN THE SAME AREA; ONE WAS EQUIPPED WITH A HEAT PUMP, TAKING HEAT FROM EXHAUST AIR (WINTER) OR FROM EXTERNAL AIR (SUMMER). THE OPERATING MODE OF THE SWIMMING POOLS IS DIFFERENT IN TERMS OF POSSIBLE DECREASE IN OPERATING COSTS. THE HEAT PUMP REDUCES ALL KINDS OF ENERGY REQUIREMENTS BY 21%. FINANCIAL SAVINGS MAY REACH 48%. A FOURTH SWIMMING POOL CONSTRUCTED MORE RECENTLY WAS EQUIPPED WITH A HEAT PIPE SYSTEM FOR RECOVERING HEAT, WHILE MAINTAINING THE REQUIRED COMFORT (RELATIVE HUMIDITY). IN ADDITION, IT IS COVERED WITH A FILM DURING THE NIGHT FOR LIMITING EVAPORATION. ENERGY SAVINGS REACH 51%. A.G.
