Summary

USE OF EXTERNAL AIR IN WINTER AND IN MID-SEASONS IN ORDER TO SAVE AIR CONDITIONING ENERGY IN COMPUTER ROOMS. THE PAPER SUMMARIZES THE CONSTRAINTS OF THIS TYPE OF PLANT, WHICH LIMIT THE USE OF EXTERNAL AIR. IT GIVES A SOLUTION WHICH CONSISTS OF TAKING ALL OR PART OF THE HEAT LOAD FROM TREATED INTERNAL RETURN AIR BY MEANS OF AN AIR-GLYCOL WATER COIL. THE PLANT IS SPLIT IN SEVERAL PARTS IN PARALLEL IN ORDER TO ADJUST (IN TERMS OF EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE), THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE OVERALL LOAD BETWEEN DISCHARGE INTO THE EXTERNAL AIR AND DISCHARGE BY THE REFRIGERATION PLANT. THE GLYCOL WATER CIRCUIT IS ALSO USED FOR REMOVING CONDENSER HEAT.
