Summary
THE FRICTION COEFFICIENTS OF THESE HIGH-CRITICAL TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING CERAMICS ARE STUDIED IN THE RANGE OF NORMAL LOADING OF 2.5 TO 25 N AT 77 AND 293 K. THE RESULTS OBTAINED ARE COMPARED WITH FRICTION COEFFICIENTS OF ORDINARY SUPERCONDUCTORS AND ANTIFRICTION MATERIALS. IT IS FOUND THAT THE HIGH-CRITICAL TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING CERAMICS HAVE A RATHER LOW FRICTION COEFFICIENT.
