Summary

In autumn last year the German federal environmental agency (UBA) announced the implementation of an Energy Label for refrigerated vehicles required by the EU in the course of this year. Since this initiative was also supported by the significant organizations in the refrigerated industry such as Transfrigoroute Germany, the German frozen food institute (GTI) as well as the German cold storage and logistics association (VDKL) in order to counteract the drastic increase in energy costs, a DIN working group was constituted in Germany to develop the fundamentals for the projected Energy Label.
