Frost formation and defrosting of dry air coolers as decisive factors for the efficiency of refrigeration units.

Summary
As the thickness of the frost layer increases, the thermal and hydraulic resistances of the air cooler increase as well. This leads to energy dissipation and worse working characteristics of the air coolers. The paper presents various methods of defrosting and a new efficient defrosting system is proposed.
