Summary

MOTION OF A REED VALVE IN A ROTARY COMPRESSOR HAS A GREAT INFLUENCE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPRESSOR. THE FLOW CHARACTERISTIC OF A REED VALVE DEPENDS ON ITS MOTION. IN ORDER TO ANALYZE THE FLOW CHARACTERISTIC OF A REED VALVE, THE AA. DEVELOPED A MODEL VALVE DEVICE TO SIMULATE THE MOVEMENT OF A REED VALVE. THE INFLUENCE OF THE PRESSURE DIFFERENCE ACROSS THE VALVE, THE VALVE DISPLACEMENT AND THE VALVE INCLINATION WERE STUDIED BY THIS DEVICE. IN THIS EXPERIMENT AIR WAS USED AS THE WORKING FLUID. IN CONSEQUENCE, EXPERIMENTAL VALUES WERE ANALYZED BY MEANS OF THE DISCHARGE COEFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE PORT AREA AND FLOW FORCE COEFFICIENT. FROM THESE RESULTS THE AA. OBTAINEDTHE FLOW CHARACTERISTIC DATA OF A REED VALVE FOR THE ROTARY COMPRESSOR ANALYSIS.
