General strategies and a calculation method for cold down-draft prevention in a large glazed enclosure.
Author(s) : TJELFLAAT P. O.
Summary
Notes the problem of thermal discomfort caused by downdraught near large glazed facades such as occur in atria. Reviews and discusses strategies and methods for down draught prevention. Goes on to apply a special strategy and a calculation method to the design for a 25.5-m high glazed facade exposed to an outdoor temperature of -22 deg C. Extended window crossbars and a heated vertical airflow issuing from a slot are used in the design solution.
