Summary
A GENERALISED METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF EVAPORATORS WITH THE USE OF DIMENSIONLESS PARAMETERS IS DESCRIBED. THE ADVANTAGES OF THEIR USE ARE SHOWN. THE RESULTS OF COMPUTERISED CALCULATION ARE GIVEN IN A UNIVERSAL DIAGRAM TO BE USED IN PRACTICE WHEN CALCULATING ALL TYPES OF EVAPORATOR FOR WHICH THE SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT ON THE BOILING OF THE REFRIGERANT IS DESCRIBED BY THE POWER FUNCTION OF HEAT FLOW DENSITY. AN EXAMPLE OF CALCULATION IS GIVEN.
