Summary

THE PROPERTIES OF TWO-BAND SUPERCONDUCTORS NEAR THE CRITICAL TEMPERATURE ARE STUDIED THEORETICALLY USING THE GINZBURG-LANDAU EQUATIONS FOR A TWO-COMPONENT ORDER PARAMETER. IN THE CASE CONSI DERED, THE QUALITATIVE BEHAVIOUR OF THE MAGNITUDES MEASURED AT VARYING TEMPERATURE IS ESSENTIALLY SIMILAR TO THEIR BEHAVIOUR IN ONE-BAND SUPERCONDUCTORS. MANY OF THE EQUATIONS RELATING THE OBSERVED MAGNITUDES IN THE ONE-BAND MODEL REMAIN VALID TOO.
