GIVING AIR THE RUN AROUND.

Summary
AN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS MAY OFTEN PROVIDE SUFFICIENT HEAT TO MAKE RECOVERY FROM EXHAUST AIR WORTHWHILE. THE AIR, HOWEVER, IS FREQUENTLY CONTAMINATED TO ANEXTENT IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE WITH ORDINARY FILTERS. A RUN-AROUND COIL SYSTEM IS USUALLY THE MOST ATTRACTIVE SYSTEM, BUT THE EXHAUST AIR COIL MUST BE EASILY CLEANABLE AND RESISTANT TO CORROSION. BARE TUBE COILS HAVE A POOR THERMAL EFFICIENCY. IF FINNED COILS ARE USED, IT MAY BE PREFERABLE TO MOUNT THEM WITH INTERMEDIATE ACCESS SPACES TO ALLOW FOR EASY CLEANING. THE WEIGHT OF THE FOULING MATTER IS IMPORTANT IN STRUCTURAL DESIGN. D.W.H.
