Summary
The guide gives advice on the course of action if an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease is suspected, on cleaning and disinfection of a cooling tower implicated in an outbreak of legionnaires' disease, and on the use of sodium hypochlorite solutions for chlorination of cooling water systems in hospitals. Gives further advice in the form of emptying times for cooling tower ponds, a questionnaire to assess the serviceability of existing cooling systems and a sample logbook for the planned maintenance of a cooling tower.
