Summary

The authors performed a successful living relative small bowel transplantation on May 17, 1996. One hundred centimeters of ileum was harvested from the patient's mother and used as a graft. Details of the operations are described, included short conservation of the graft; analysis of preservation injury for living graft is made. Further examination is needed to prepare cadaveric transplantations and find parameters of preservation injury.
