Ground coupled heat pumps with vertical direct evaporation coils.

Author(s) : EBNER T., LAWATSCH H.

Summary

The problem with long vertical up-feed evaporators is the cyclic variation in pressure when the liquid is lifted against gravity. An improved type of evaporator is concentric with the refrigerant evaporating in the annulus, flowing downwards, with only vapour return in the inner tube. With some refrigerants there is extra difficulty with oil return. Thermostatic and constant pressure expansion valves have been used. A.R.T.
