Summary

A FIELD STUDY WAS PERFORMED IN UPSTATE NEW YORK TO TEST THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A GROUND-SOURCE HEAT PUMP (GSHP) IN A SMALL-TO MEDIUM-SIZE APPLICATION. PERFORMANCE DATA WAS GATHERED CONFIRMING THAT THE GSHP SYSTEM COULD MEET COOLING AND HEATING LOADS, ACHIEVE COMPETITIVE EFFICIENCY RATINGS AND REDUCE ELECTRICAL LOAD. OPTIMAL GROUND-SOURCE HEAT EXCHANGER CONFIGURATIONS WERE DETERMINED.
