Summary

THE AUTHORS HAVE COMPARED TEST RESULTS FROM AN APPARATUS IN WHICH A FLUID WITHIN HORIZONTAL TUBES IS COOLED BY EVAPORATION OF A WATER AND AIR FLOW TAKING PLACE OVER THE TUBES, AS IN AN EVAPORATIVE REFRIGERANT CONDENSER OR CLOSED CIRCUIT COOLING TOWER. COMPARISONS WITH THEORETICAL VALUES DETERMINED FOR A SINGLE TUBE SHOW ERRORS, AND MORE ACCURATE CORRELATIONS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED FOR ROWS OF TUBES TO ENABLE CALCULATIONS OF REASONABLE ACCURACY TO BE MADE.
