Summary

Spanish translation of an article presented at an IIR Meeting at Palmerston North, New Zealand, November 15-18, 1993 (see IIR Bulletin 94-6, 94-3495). The series of measurements carried out in shops have made possible the analysis of different parts of the heat balance of an open-type frozen food cabinet with air curtains. The measured or calculated loss is compared with the cabinet refrigeration output. By using the condensate weight measured during defrosting periods, the inward leakage of external ambient air to the interior of the cabinet is determined. In the case studied, more than half the thermal loss comes from heat gain and external water vapour.
